Funeral services for Emmett C. Harrison, 82, of Tallahassee, FL and Whigham, GA, were at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 25, 2014, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Calvary, GA, with Rev. Wayne McDonald officiating. Interment was at the Harrison Cemetery #1, Whigham, GA. Harrison passed away at his home in Tallahassee, FL, on Tuesday, July 22, 2014.
Active pallbearers were Dan Jones, Jerome Dixon, Mitch Harrison, Tyler Harrison, Don Lovins and Jerry Collins.
Harrison was born on August 19, 1931, in Calvary, GA, to the late Hadley Thomas Harrison and Mattie Mae Johnson Harrison. He attended school at Fort Myers High School and graduated from Cairo High School. After completing a term of service in the U.S. Army with the 10th Special Forces Group, he enrolled at Florida State University where he earned a degree in Business Administration. He owned and operated the Credit Bureau of Tallahassee and the Credit Bureau of Grady County Georgia. He was very active in the industry where he served as President of the Associated Credit Bureaus of Florida, Associated Credit Bureaus of the Southeast, and as Chairman of the Board of Associated Credit Bureaus, the international association. After retiring in 1986, he returned to his family farm in Grady County, GA, and operated the farm until his passing. On October 14, 1983, he married Billie Pritchett Harrison. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Calvary, GA.

Harrison, Jr. of Tallahassee FL, Tom Harrison (Tammy) of Tallahassee FL, Tommy Norris of Atlanta GA, Greg Norris of Port Saint Joe, FL, Sherry King of Olive Branch, MS; grandchildren, Mitchell B. Harrison (Lesley) of Tallahassee FL; Tyler H. Harrison (Laurie) of Tallahassee FL, Ashley T. Harrison of Tallahassee, FL, Derek Norris (Deanna) of Gainesville, FL; Jeannie Cunningham of Olive Branch MS, John Clark of Biloxi, MS, Blake Plummer of Biloxi, MS, Dakota Page of Tallahassee, FL; great-grandchild, Audrey Dyle of Tallahassee, FL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frank Pritchett (Betty) of Cairo GA, Jerry Pritchett (Verla) of Cairo, GA, Kay Hash (Joe) of Whigham, GA, Suellen Hester of Cairo, GA, Beth Skaja of Whigham, GA; and a host of extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
